Constitution
of the
Caltech Christian Fellowship
Introduction
The Caltech Christian Fellowship (CCF) is a group of people brought together through dedication to God and to His Word. We recognize the Bible as Gods infallible, inerrant, and inspired Word to mankind and therefore hold it as the document of highest authority. This constitution contains two parts: the first is the Bible itself, and the second is a statement of faith meant to outline certain truths found in the Bible that are considered fundamental to Christianity. Since faith without works is dead, we commit to a life of service in accordance with Gods will.
Section 1
Role of the Bible
The Holy Bible, comprised exclusively of the Old and New Testaments, is to be used as the ultimate written authority for all aspects of life. A copy of the Bible is contained in the following ~1000 pages. (WWW version, click here)
Section 2
Basis of Faith
CCF is based upon the following truths:
the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God
the uniqueness, divine inspiration, inerrancy, infallibility and authority of the Bible
the substitutionary death of Jesus Christ as necessary and sufficient for the redemption of the world, and the historic fact of His bodily resurrection
the only way to obtain eternal life is through repenting from a sinful life to a life of faith by trusting in Christ as Savior and Lord
the presence and power of the Holy Spirit in the work of regeneration
the sovereignty of God in creation, revelation, redemption, and final judgment
the expectation of the personal return of our Lord Jesus Christ
For the sake of constitutional variety, these truths can also be expressed in part by the song "Creed" by Petra, as given in the appendix.
All those who have leadership roles in the CCF must agree to the above basis of faith without reservation, confessing Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior.
Musical Appendix
Creed
by Petra
I believe in God the Fathermaker of heaven and earth
And in Jesus Christ His only Son
I believe in the virgin birth
I believe in the Man of Sorrows bruised for iniquities
I believe in the Lamb who was crucified and hung between two thieves
I believe in the resurrection on the third and glorious day
And I believe in the empty tomb and the stone the angel rolled away
He descended and set the captives free
And now He sits at Gods right hand and prepares a place for me
Chorus
This is my creedthe witness I have heard
The faith that has endured
This truth is assured
Through the darkest ages past
Though persecuted, it will last
And I will hold steadfast to this creed
I believe He sent His Spirit to comfort and to reveal
To lead us into truth and light, to baptize and to seal
I believe that He will come back the way He went away
And receives us all unto Himself, but no man knows the day
I believe He is the Judge of all men, small or great
The resurrected souls of men receive from Him their fate
Some to death and some to life, some to their reward
Some to sing eternal praise forever to our Lord
